What is Your Why? From Burnout, Autoimmune Disease and Infertility to Healing Through Wellness

14 years ago, I was deep in the trenches of tech consulting. It was exciting, fast-paced, and full of learning—but it also meant 60 to 80-hour workweeks, weekends, late nights, and a constant, buzzing stress that I thought was just part of the job. I didn’t realize then that my body was already whispering, and soon, it would start screaming.

In my early twenties, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune Grave’s disease. Most people get it decades later in life, but for me, it came early—and I believe it was triggered by stress and my environment. The hustle culture I had embraced was slowly breaking me down from the inside.

As if that wasn't enough, when my husband and I were ready to start a family, we faced fertility issues—another brutal reminder of how fragile the body becomes when pushed beyond its limits. I was fortunate to be able to step away from the intensity of my consulting role and move into a space that allowed me to breathe, heal, and reset.

With the support of both traditional and modern interventions, we eventually became pregnant. But even then, the journey wasn’t smooth. We experienced a chemical pregnancy, an ectopic pregnancy, and both of my sons were born through life-threatening deliveries. Each moment was a raw, humbling experience. And through it all, a single question kept echoing in my mind:

What is the true purpose of life if you don’t have your health?

That question became the seed for Wangi.

Wangi is my space. It’s my pause button. It’s a reminder—to myself and to my community—that wellness is not selfish. It’s not a luxury. It is a necessity, and you deserve it. It’s born from real-life moments of pain, healing, and clarity.

Through Wangi, I want to bring wellness back into the everyday. Not in a performative way, but in the quiet, grounding way we all need—through scent, rituals, and small practices that bring us back to ourselves. Because the truth is:

Without health, nothing matters.

So this is my why.
Wangi is not just a product.
It’s a reminder that your wellbeing matters.
And taking care of yourself is the most powerful thing you can do.
